Donyá Collins is an illustrator and character designer based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Growing up surrounded by creatives and being immersed in the Golden Age of Animation made her fall in love with art, storytelling and creativity. Since then she has been relentlessly pursuing art as a career. She studied art at Indiana University and there she learned to fulfill other creative passions as well as illustration and painting like journalism, dance and photography.
Starting in 2020, Donyá officially started her business Art By Yay where she sells a variety of merchandise both online and in person. In her time of freelancing, she has done medical illustrations, character designs, graphic designs as well as many others. Collins has been featured in a number of exhibitions most notably her “Revolutionary” Capstone exhibition and the “Women Of Color” exhibition on view at the Indianapolis Central Public Library.
Between freelancing and employment, Donyá likes to work on her many personal art projects, creating illustrations and varied concept art as well as watching Supernatural and sitcoms, learning the electric guitar or reading.
